AWARDS

Eva has been nominated three times for the Pulitzer Prize by The Richmond Times-Dispatch, twice for "Hard Time: The Richmond City Jail" and once for her work in New Orleans East four years after hurricane Katrina. She has also received multiple awards in contests held by the NPPA, VNPA, VPA, SND, and SNPA.

November 2011
  • "Conjoined" - Photographs and HD video documentary project on the separation of nineteen month-old conjoined twins Maria and Teresa Tapia

January 2010
  • Multimedia coverage of the aftermath of the January 12th earthquake in Haiti

April 2009
  • Multimedia follow-up on Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and Mississippi 
  • Week-long coverage in a Vietnamese community of New Orleans East to document rebuilding efforts since the storm

March 2009
  • Traveled to northern Uganda to document the work of a non-government organization administering AIDS clinics in Lira and Gulu, Uganda

  • "The PACT Team" - Multimedia project on a team of 13 social workers, nurses and psychotherapists with the Richmond Behavioral Health Authority, and the 101 mentally ill Richmond residents who are their patients

  • "The Mentally Ill in the Richmond City Jail" - Multimedia project on the conditions of mentally ill inmates in the city jail

  • Week-long coverage (4/16 - 4/22) of the Virginia Tech shooting massacre in Blacksburg, VA
